Roles purpose

Release Lead will own the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the enterprise for multiple applications.
The releases can be Technical or/and Business releases type with different type of changes from Infra-structure up to the application layer.
Release Lead is responsible for planning and managing each of the projects releases according to the roadmap ensuring the following are properly managed and documented:

- Managing, planning, scheduling and controlling a software build through different stages and environments, including testing and deploying software releases
- Prepare Release Calendar and Deployment heat maps to ensure stakeholders are notified of changes in a clear and easy to understand way
- Deployment plan including tasks, planned times, duration, dependencies and RACI
- Chair Go/No go meeting along the release phases with the relevant stakeholders
- Incidents and defects are mitigated and managed through the deployment phase
- Lessons learned are logged and utilized in future planning activities
- Communication of progress, risks and issues throughout the Release lifecycle
- Support Hyper-Care
- Measure and monitor releases to ensure that are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations
- Identify opportunities to improve the overall Release and Deployment Manager processes, tools, practices and principles
- Aligning Release & Deployment deliverables with Agile / DevOps ways of working
- Constantly seek and utilize feedback from peers and stakeholders.

 

IT Release Lead drive and facilitates the definition of the following strategies, practices and principles to ensure that any new projects and BAU projects are align with our Release Planning and Deployment best practice:

- Environment Strategy
- Integration Strategy
- Deployment Strategy and Cadence
- Support Model and Organization
- DevOps Operating Model
- Backup / Restore approach/Security appraisal
- Releases KPI’s

Skill Required

- Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle and methodologies such as Agile, DevOps and Waterfall.
- 5-8 years of experience in Release Management and/or project management. Total experience 10 to 12 Years
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
- Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
- ITIL experience 
- Jira experience
