About this Role
We are seeking a Voice Core Mobile Operations Engineer to support the operational excellence of our Core IMS Network. This role involves second-level troubleshooting, proactive maintenance, and integration of new technologies to ensure optimal performance and service continuity. The individual will collaborate closely with 1st Line Operations and Planning teams, contributing to the rollout of software, configuration activities, and vendor coordination.
What you’ll do
- Conduct preventive and corrective second-level troubleshooting for Core IMS Network Elements.
- Collaborate with 1st Line Operations to develop procedures for alarm analysis and fault elimination.
- Perform data configuration, software rollouts, and support integration activities.
- Manage incidents, including troubleshooting, repair actions, and vendor escalations to restore service.
- Execute proactive maintenance such as daily walkthroughs and health checks.
- Ensure quality and functionality during planned network activities including upgrades and parameter changes.
- Introduce and manage emerging technologies through vendor and on-the-job training.
- Carry out acceptance testing and configuration of new Core CS network elements.
Who you are
- Strong understanding of core network principles for 2G/LTE technologies including MSS, MGW, SBC, CSCF, TAS, ENUM, VoLTE.
- Proficient in core network protocols: SIGTRAN, ISUP, CAMEL, INAP, SIP, Diameter, TCP/UDP, S1AP, GTP/GTPv2, MAP, BSSAP.
- Skilled in trace analysis using tools such as Wireshark and Tektronix.
- Familiar with NFV frameworks and VNF technologies, including protocols like MPLS/IPSEC Tunnel.
- Experience with automation tools and languages such as Python, Power Automation, RH Ansible, and scripting.
- Competent in Unix/Linux OS administration.
- Holds a university degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or Information Technology.
- 1–2 years of experience in Core Network Operations and Maintenance.
- Nokia core network certifications or equivalent are desirable.
