Senior Specialist: Radio Planning and Optimisation

Role Purpose/Business Unit:
To provide high level technical support in the Radio Planning and Optimisation environment and to correct network quality & RPO impacting problems
Your responsibilities will include:
- Act as team leader for the regional planning & optimisation team
- Perform network optimisation for RAN network, by consulting and advising @ Regional and County Level
- Implementation & management of network parameters
- Identify & rectify areas of poor network quality
- Identification, planning and implementation of new RAN equipment to improve quality and support rollout.
- Planning and integration of new sites, e.g. 2G, 3G and LTE within the Region and County
- Implementation of network expansion plans
- Manage higher order network entity planning & configuration
- Liaison with central Project Management, Regional Property, Maintenance , Installation and Transmission departments and external contractors.
- Conducted RAN coverage and capacity planning
- Managed Network Performance
- Provided Support
- Maintained Planning Database
- Forecasted Network Growth and Network Traffic Planning
- Managed various high level projects
- Involvement in Vodafone benchmarking and preparation at County and Regional Level
- New Site Performance and Optimisation - Ensure new sites are specifically tracked wrt performance to have minimal impact on the region, this also overlaps with the NED monitoring
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- 3 year Degree/National Diploma (minimum)
- 5-8 years’ work experience in telecoms industry
- Good knowledge of RF antennas and systems
- Good knowledge and experience in ATOL planning tool
- GSM / UMTS / LTE planning and optimisation principles
- Project Management basic knowledge
- Exposure to UMTS / LTE planning & optimisation tools.
- Radio environment knowledge (RF)
- Exposure to IP fundamentals
- Huawei Equipment Knowledge preferable
