Role purpose: The FTTX team is building and operating a fibre network to offer customers fixed broadband via the Kayanet proposition. It is imperative that the FTTX team build, maintain & operate the best fibre network in MZ, but considering cost effectiveness and efficiency. The FTTX team is facing aggressive network build targets that will require focused network build management.
In addition to FTTX, the role will also assist in NLD and metro fibre network build, maintain & operate in order to support a cohesive national fibre network infrastructure for Vodacom.
The role will report to the FTTX team leader.


Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
 
•    Manage network build planning incl CAPEX management.
•    Manage network build suppliers.
•    Assess and optimize network build processes.
•    Perform network audits.
•    Align network build & maintenance with the FTTX Installation & Commissioning and Sales team.


Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

 

•    Fibre network management systems.
•    Fibre network build & maintenance.
•    Fibre.
•     network design.
•    IP networking & switching.
•    WiFi technology & networking.

 

 

Must have technical / professional qualifications & experience: 

 

•    Relevant engineering qualifications in IP networking and telecommunications.
•    Proven experience in network build & problem solving through trouble shooting & analysis.
•    Proven IP networking experience.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

•    Network build targets.
•    CAPEX & audit targets.
•    Networking management system efficiency.
