Role Purpose/Business Unit:

 

To manage site planning, deliver an optimised radio network and resolve customer queries.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Lead the RPO team to deliver the New Sites Planning Pipeline & Rollout Projects for the FY.
  • Develop innovative RF solutions to resolve customer problems.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of all related databases and documentation in compliance with Vodacom quality standards.
  • Manage all customer-related queries until resolved. Support customer Care, VIP Escalations, PM, Property, and EBU/CBU departments.
  • Provide input into the evaluation, development needs and maintenance of RPO specialist competencies and performance.
  • Support the RPO team while conducting drive tests, probing tools, and statistical analysis to determine the root cause and resolution of problems.
  • Conduct optimisation projects for single sites, clusters, and network features.
  • Provide ad-hoc, concise reports and feedback to requesting internal parties.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

  • 3-year degree or National Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • 5 to 10 Years Telecoms experience.
  • Telecommunications (GSM, UTRAN, LTE, and 5G) courses are essential.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant GSM experience (inclusive of 2 years LTE experience) is essential


Core competencies, knowledge and experience :

  • Computer applications (e.g., MS Office, MS Teams & MAPINFO)
  • Network Performance
  • Network Analysis tools (e.g., U2020, Actix, Sonar, Atoll, OSS, Probes & Crowd Analysis)
  • Technology - GSM, UMTS, LTE, 5G knowledge
  • Customer Care
