Role Purpose/Business Unit:

 

To actively facilitate business operation functions for billing assurance and governance for fixed services. This role will lead the implementation of solutions and capabilities that ensure revenue assurance and billing process efficiencies within the Department. Additionally, the role will include a governance function for VSA IT as per ISD’s policy custodianship.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Governance – maintain relevant policies and procedures for which ISD is the custodian and conduct training where required to VSA IT teams.
  • End to end problem solving based on a good understanding of the billing systems/processes within fixed services and the broader Vodacom
  • Review and analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of existing billing systems to develop strategies for improving and enhancing those areas.
  • Collaborate with internal billing business partners to overcome issues impacting customer experience and execute operational improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for identifying revenue gaps and putting in revenue assurance controls.
  • Manage daily operations of the customer billing process.
  • Define technical workflows to enable billing capabilities by documenting and prioritizing process/system change requests.
  • Lead and drive project delivery and ensure that requirements, specified designs and technical solution specifications are met. 
  • Work with the reporting team to ensure monitoring tools and analytics for the billing area are in place.
  • Maintain, re-evaluate, optimise or automate existing business billing processes.
  • Facilitate sessions to identify & fix transactional anomalies related to billing controls including those related to compliance such as security, privacy, and regulatory needs.
  • Document and educate relevant teams to ensure process alignment
  • The role would require rotational standby

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

  • Matric is essential
  • A relevant IT 3-year tertiary qualification is essential.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in an IT Operations environment is essential. 
  • FTTx, Billing Assurance & GSM related experience is highly desirable
  • ITIL Service Management Foundation is essential
