Role Purpose/Business Unit:
The role of the Specialist: Network Operations is accountable for the delivery of the relevant operational SLA and KPIs defined in FFO contracts, supervise outsourced partners, ensuring the delivery of network performance targets, supporting to build and operate best network. Serve as primary partner interface for all stakeholders
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage all escalations to and from VDC as well the Operational relationships with partner Suppliers and internal teams.
- Identification of potential process issues and implementation of improvement plans.
- To assist FFO Partner to resolve faults on the BSS RAN and transmission network timeously and reduce downtime.
- Drive regular operational performance reviews (daily & weekly) with all outsourced partners, in line with the defined governance requirements.
- Manage trouble tickets and act as a single point of management escalation for all open issues.
- Diagnose network faults, quality faults and rectify or recommend corrective measures when necessary to improve network availability in the region
- Support and resolve network degradation in order to improve customer experience and benchmark performance.
- To provide technical support to Regional TX, RPO & ANOC on all Maintenance and TX related faults in the network.
- Accountable for Technical Assurance, operational management of RAN vendors and technical support for new products integration in our RAN network.
- To manage and support logistics around implementation of projects.
- Conduct site acceptance (quality control) on work done by contractors to ensure that the set standards are met and all policies and procedures are compiled to and liaise with the different role-players (Planning, Customer Care, ANOC, Installations, Property, External parties) and provide support in order to ensure effective communication and feedback as well as to enhance cooperation.
- Perform quality assurance and acceptances on delivery of commissioned RAN systems. Review invoices from the suppliers and approve in conjunction with Radio operations manager/regional EHOD/FFO EHOD.
- Assist in driving network improvement projects related to power upgrades and cooling on BTS sites in the region.
- To provide weekly and monthly reports on network performance and availability
- Ensure that all Safety, Health and Environmental standards are complied with.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Matric/Grade 12 (Essential).
- Relevant 3-year Degree/National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (BSc, B. Tech, S4, N6, T3) (Essential) or relevant equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in radio networks maintenance.
